Charley Pride took his last breath on December 12, 2020. He was suffering from coronavirus and failed to recover from it even after fighting hard for it. He last appeared for the CMA Awards where he even won the Lifetime Achievement Award. After his death, the spotlight has come to the CMA Awards which was conducted in a closed room despite the risk of coronavirus. Many celebrities and fans are blaming the organizers of the award for being ignorant at a time millions of people are dying of the virus.

CMA Awards Defends Itself After Death Of Charley Pride

CMA Awards officials understood that the award ceremony was getting negative publicity on the death of Charley Pride. They revealed that the award ceremony was conducted after taking every precautionary step. Everyone was tested multiple times to ensure that the virus does not spread. Moreover, CMA Awards said, “Everyone affiliated with the CMA Awards followed strict testing protocols outlined by the city health department and unions. Charley was tested prior to traveling to Nashville.”

CMA Awards Officials Reveal Charley Pride Was Tested Multiple Times

Like every celebrity and people associated with the awards, Charley Pride was also tested multiple times. He was tested before and after the awards as a precautionary measure. The statement from the CMA Awards further said, “He was tested upon landing in Nashville, and again on show day, with all tests coming back negative. After returning to Texas following the CMA Awards, Charley again tested negative multiple times.”

CMA Awards Mourn The Death Of Charley

CMA Awards did not just defend their stance. Instead, they made it a point to remember the death of Charley Pride. They said, “All of us in the Country Music community are heartbroken by Charley’s passing. Out of respect for his family during their grieving period, we will not be commenting on this further.”
