Shaq revealed that the reason why he never voted before was that he did not understand the democracy and system of election in the US. However, with the 2020 elections, he is very actively asking people to come out and vote. With preaching other people to vote, it was only fair that he also voted even though it was for the first time. He further said in his podcast, “You know I always like being honest on my podcast. I’ve never voted before, America. But, now I’m doing all these voting campaigns, and you know one thing I never like to do is be a hypocrite.”
